Russian long-range bombers target arms and ammunition depots for ISIS in Deir Ezzor

Moscow, SANA- Russian long-range bombers targeted on Friday sites for ISIS terrorist organization in Deir Ezzor province within the framework of Russia’s participation in the war against terrorism upon the request of the Syrian government.

The Russian Defense ministry said in a statement that Tu-22M3 long-range bombers that took off from a Russian airfield and flew over Iraq and Iran carried out a number of airstrikes on large arms and ammunition depots for ISIS in al-Mayaden city in the countryside of Deir Ezzor province.

The Ministry noted that reconnaissance has confirmed the destruction of all designated targets, adding that the bombers were covered by Su-30SM and Su-35S planes from the Hmeimim airbase in Lattakia.

The Ministry said that Russian jets returned to their bases after successfully completing their combat mission.
