Russian MoD: Two bases for terrorist organizations destroyed in Homs and Deir Ezzor

Moscow, SANA- The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its Aerospace Forces operating in Syria destroyed two bases for terrorist organizations in Homs and Deir Ezzor provinces.

“Strikes delivered by the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed two bases for terrorists, who left al-Tanf zone and took refuge in hard-to-reach areas of the El-Amor ridge in the province of Homs and the El-Bishri ridge in the province of Deir Ezzor,” Deputy Head of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim, Maj. Gen. Yury Popov said in a press statement.

The US occupation forces have established military bases in areas they occupied in al-Jazeera region and in al-Tanf area since 2014 under the pretext of fighting Daesh “ISIS” terrorist organization, while facts later showed that the US occupation took those bases as a starting point to support terrorist organizations deployed in the region, including groups of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and ISIS, which is listed on the international terrorist list, for using them to attack Syrian Arab Army sites, population centers, and vital facilities in Syria.

In a related context, the Russian military official indicated that two attacks were recorded by terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and the so-called “the Islamic Party of Turkestan” during the past 24 hours in the Idleb de-escalation zone on safe sites in Aleppo and Lattakia provinces.
