Damascus, SANA – Caretaker Health Minister Saad al-Nayef called for prioritizing work on setting up policies and programs to reconstruct the health sector in the coming stage.
He urged the parties concerned with the sector, during a meeting with their representatives, to step up efforts and employ all potentials and capabilities to upgrade and improve the health situation in the country.
He highlighted the need for setting up health projects so as to meet the increasing needs under the current circumstances in the country where the terrorist war has taken a severe toll on the various sector, not least the health sector.
The Minister placed special focus on drawing up health work programs and executive plans in the reconstruction stage, during which he said the priority will be rehabilitating the terrorism-stricken infrastructure, mainly hospitals and health centers.
Al-Nayef revealed that the Ministry will soon provide the rescue system with 100 new ambulances and focus on boosting the infrastructure of the Ministry’s laboratories.
The meeting took place at al-Bassel Center for Cardiac Diseases and Surgery in Damascus.
