Hasaka Governorate, WFP discuss humanitarian aid in the province

Hasaka, SANA-Hasaka Governor Mohammad Za’al al-Ali discussed with head of the World Food Program (WFP) Office in Qamishli Afraa Noah the challenges facing the office work as a result of the current circumstances in the city of Hasaka.

Al-Ali affirmed that the governorate puts at the disposal of humanitarian organizations all the infrastructure and qualified staff that will assist them in carrying out their humanitarian missions in helping the citizens and alleviate the effects of war.

The governor also hailed the efforts exerted by the WFP in transporting food aid to the province through the air lift.

For her part, Noah said that more than 50,000 food packages in addition to large amounts of food and non-food materials had arrived to Hasaka province through the air lift since the ninth of last July.

She confirmed that the WFP will distribute during the current month 35,000 food packages for the needy families, adding that the air lift will continue its work till the end of this month.

During 2015 the WFP provided more than 280,000 food packages to Hasaka.
