Iranian Foreign Ministry: Combating terrorist groups in Syria must be done in coordination with Syrian government

Tehran, SANA- Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi affirmed that combating terrorist groups in Syria must be done in coordination with the Syrian government.

In a statement about the Turkish military aggression on the Syrian territory, Ghasemi said that the fight against terrorist organizations in Syria should be coordinated with the Syrian government, with an emphasis on respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, which is one of the foundations and principles of international law.

He added that Iran has always stressed on the need for collective cooperation to combat terrorism as it is an international responsibility and all the countries of the region have to cooperate to confront to ominous phenomenon of terrorism.
