Yaziji: Health Ministry does its best to secure the health requirements for locals in Aleppo

Damascus, SANA- Heath Minister Nizar Yaziji discussed on Wednesday with head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Syria Marianne Gasser mechanisms of cooperation and coordination to meet the needs of the health sector in Aleppo in the light of the continued terrorist attacks on the residential neighborhoods.

Minister Yaziji added that the challenges that the health sector in Aleppo faces are increasing in light of the continued terrorist attacks that target the residential neighborhoods, noting that the ministry does its best to offer the healthy needs to locals in Aleppo.

He stressed the need of ICRC contribution to lift the economic blockade imposed on Syria which negatively affects different service sectors, particularly the health sector to enable the ministry to perform its duties in the best way and to provide all locals with the necessary services.

In turn, Gasser expressed thanks for the continued cooperation by the Health Ministry to facilitate the work of the ICRC and appreciation for the efforts exerted by health employees who work around the clock in Aleppo’s hospitals to save the lives of the wounded persons due to the terrorist attacks.

During his visit to Aleppo late in July, Minster Yaziji emphasized the need to work to secure all health services to all locals in Aleppo.
