Moscow, SANA – Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday that Russian long-range bombers, having taken off from Hamadan air base in Iran, destroyed weapon depots and command centers of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations in Syria in a series of sorties .
“Tu-23M3 long-range bombers, having taken off from Iranian Hamadan Airport, carried out airstrikes against targets belonging to the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groups in the provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor and Idleb,” the ministry said in a statement published on its website.
It added that the sorties left a big number of terrorists killed and destroyed five weapon, explosives and fuel depots at the surrounding of Saraqeb, al-Bab, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor.
According to the ministry, three command centers for terrorists at the surrounding of al-Jafra village and Deir Ezzor city were also destroyed.
The ministry said that Su-34 and Su-35 jet fighters, which took off from Hmeimim Airbase in Lattakia, participated in the military operation and returned back to the base after carrying out the sorties.
Rossiya 24 channel said earlier that Russian bombers reached in the Iranian Hamedan air base to participate in strikes on ISIS terrorist organization positions in Syria, pointing out that deploying the Russian jets in Iran facilitate their work through reducing flight time by 60% .
