Damascus, SANA, a mass thanking prayer was held on Friday in Virgin Mary Church in Damascus, led by Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus Chrysostomos II who showed support to Syria and its people.
Chairing a mass held with participation of His Beatitude John X Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, Archbishop Chrysostomos said “we pray that Syria would restore peace”.
For his part Patriarch Yazigi stressed the importance of Archbishop Chrysostomos’ visit to Syria, hailing the joint ties connecting Syria and Cyprus.
On Friday, an ecclesiastical delegation headed by Archbishop Chrysostomos arrived in Damascus. The visit will last to next Tuesday.
Head of the delegation said in a statement upon his arrival that “I came to Syria to convey a message to the Syrian people to remain steadfast in this land.”
