Lattakia, SANA – The 3rd edition of ” A Child’s Smile” Festival, organized by the Family of Child Theater Association, witnessed a wide variety of entertainment shows and cultural activities throughout Eid al-Fitr days (a 3-day festival of fast-breaking at the end of Ramadan).
The activities included artistic and theatrical shows for children, movies, Taekwondo games and a doll-making workshop, in addition to chess, poetry recitation, eloquence, oratory and drawing competitions.
Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party branch in Lattakia, Muhammad Shreitah, indicated the importance of bringing a smile to children’s faces through organizing such activities.
For his part, Head of Culture Directorate in Lattakia, Majd Sarem, underlined the wide local and civil participation in the festival which will reflect on the cultural movement in the province and contribute to establishing a balanced and creative generation.
More than 100 artists are taking part in the festival with the aim of putting a smile on our children’s faces, said Hani Mohammed, the Festival Director and Chairman of Children’s Theatre Association.
He stressed the association’s continuous efforts to secure childhood in Syria despite the takfiri terrorists’ attempts to destroy our culture, noting that this year’s edition included a competition to discover vocal and musical talents.
“A Child’s Smile” festival has become an annual event which aims at entertaining children and enriching their knowledge through play and fun.
