Damascus, SANA – Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi stressed on Saturday that Syria’s position in support of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation and the judaization policies targeting al-Aqsa Mosque is firm.
His assertion came during a meeting with Director of the Political Bureau of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Ambassador Anwar Abdul-Hadi.
Al-Zoubi affirmed that Palestine will remain Syria’s “political compass” regardless of the challenges it is facing due to the terrorist organizations, noting that one of the reasons of these challenges is Syria’s commitment to the Palestinian Cause.
Abdul-Hadi, for his part, reviewed the Israeli occupation authorities’ continued practices against the Palestinian people, including the killings, arrest campaigns and settlement activities.
He touched upon the situation of the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria, making particular reference to Yarmouk Camp where the terrorist organizations of ISIS and Jabhta al-Nusra are active.
Abdul-Hadi renewed the Palestinian leadership’s commitment to not interfering in the internal affairs of Arab countries and respecting their sovereignty.
The Palestinian ambassador reiterated that reaching a political solution and conducting a Syrian-led dialogue will be the only way to solve the crisis in the country with maintaining its territorial integrity.
