In turn, Education Minister Hazwan al-Waz said exam centers have been determined and equipped with direct coordination with the governors and heads of education directorates, noting that the centers will be protected and guarded throughout the exam period.
He pointed out that the movement of students who are living in or near unsafe areas is facilitated and supervised in cooperation between the army units and the Internal Security Forces to ensure their safe arrival at exam centers.
SANA reporters spoke to several heads of Education Directorates and learned that transport means will be provided by the directorates and at its expense to transport students from insecure areas or those living in areas frequently targeted by terrorist groups.
They also said that makeshift centers have been set up in some provinces to host students evacuated from insecure areas at which they can stay throughout the exam period.
These efforts are taking place in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in some provinces, including in Daraa and Hasaka.
