Damascus, SANA – The Techno Build 2016 expo for building technologies opened at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus on Monday, with the participation of 45 Syrian and Arab companies working in the fields of building, construction, real-estate development, and related services.
The expo is organized by the Syrian International Marketing Association (SIMA) in cooperation with the Public Works Ministry, the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Federation, and the Syrian Council for Metals and Steel.
In a statement to journalists, Public Works Minister Hussein Arnous said the 2016 iteration of this expo has more diversity in specialization and products and more participants compared to the previous expo, with Lebanese and European companies participating via Syrian representatives.
In turn, Director of Sima Muwaffaq Tayyara said the three-day expo constitutes a platform for companies to announce their readiness to take part in the reconstruction stage, adding that holding the expo at this time is a prime opportunity for launching products and technology and building communication channels and relations for people working in the building and construction field.
Adnan al-Saour, the Chairman of the Board of Malek al-Sharq Company which is participating in the expo, said the company is planning a project for a commercial complex on al-Mazzeh highway with an area of 10,000 square meters, which includes a department for architectural design.
In turn, David Zgheib from the Lebanese company Ash, which specializes in ironworks and building services, said that participating in this expo shows Lebanon’s readiness to participate in reconstructing Syria and also shows that conditions in Syria are improving.
