Damascus, SANA – State Minister for National Reconciliation Affairs Ali Haidar affirmed that the main steps of the project to ensure the return of displaced people back to al-Sbeina, Hijjeira, al-Buweida and al-Ziabia in Damascus Countryside are ripe.
During a meeting with the local reconciliation committees of those areas on Wednesday, Haidar said the government’s decision for the people’s return includes the areas that have been prepared and rehabilitated.
He noted that a total of 35,000 families are expected to return within the project, including around 30,000 families from al-Sbeina, 3000 families from al-Buweida, 1000 families from Hijjeira and 1000 families from al-Ziabiya.
In turn, the members of local reconciliation committees briefed the Minister on the main problems standing in the way of implementing the project and discussed with him means to overcome them.
On May 9th, the State Ministry for National Reconciliation Affairs launched a civil initiative for local reconciliations in the presence of representatives from all Syrian provinces.
