Syrian-Belarusian talks in Minsk to enhance economic cooperation

Minsk, SANA-Syrian economic delegation discussed on Wednesday with a number of Belarusian officials means to enhance economic and trade relations between the two countries and the contribution of the Belarusian companies to the reconstruction stage in Syria.

The Syrian delegation will participate in the International Industrial Forum 2016 which will be held in the Belarusian Capital, Minsk.

The delegation discussed with Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov the mechanisms to enhance the trade exchange, opening Belarusian markets for the Syrian goods and offering the required facilitations for this.

In turn, Rybakov pointed to the deep relations between Syria and Belarus and expressed his country’s support for Syria to overcome the crisis, adding that his government is ready to contribute significantly to the reconstruction stage in Syria.

For his part, head of the delegation, Deputy Minister of Industry Dr. Nidal Fallouh hailed the stance of Belarus towards Syria which reflects the deep historical relations between the two countries which culminated in signing the Syrian-Belarusian protocol in 2010.

The delegation also met the Belarusian Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk, with Vovk affirming readiness to provide full support for Syria to overcome the crisis, expressing his regret for the losses of the Syrian economy under the crisis.

The delegation also met the Deputy Director General of the Belarusian Company Vitaly Gurren tharik and the marketing manager in Minsk Tractor Works, in which the two sides focused on the ways to meet the needs of the Syrian market.
