Damascus, SANA – Hundreds of students and faculty members in Damascus University on Tuesday headed to the Damascus University blood donation center to express solidarity with Aleppo’s citizens who are subjected to continuous terrorist rocket attacks, attacks which have claimed the lives of many citizens and injured many more.
The participants affirmed that donating blood is a very small gesture when compared to the sacrifices made by the people of Aleppo, adding that the campaign expresses the participants’ readiness to offer all they can to alleviate the suffering of Aleppo and its citizens, asserting that the students and staff of Damascus University stand alongside Aleppo’s people in the face of terrorism.
In the same context, around 200 people from the National Unity Youth Gathering carried out a blood drive at the Blood Bank in al-Mazzeh area in Damascus to support Aleppo’s citizens.
For his part, Dr. Bassam Eid from the Blood Bank confirmed that all blood types are available in the Bank, and that it’s ready to receive any number of donors at any time.
