Means of enhancing joint cooperation discussed between Hasaka Governorate and ICRC

Hasaka, SANA- Hasaka Governor Mohammad Zaal al-Ali discussed with deputy head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Syria Beatrice Oechsli and the accompanying delegation means of enhancing joint cooperation in service and humanitarian work.

Al-Ali underlined the efforts made by ICRC in water and health fields and its role in supporting services provided by the government to civilians, calling for enhancing cooperation between the local authorities and the ICRC to help restore services to the southern areas in Hasaka to which security and stability were restored.

In turn, Oechsli said that during this week, the ICRC, in cooperation with local authorities in the province, distributed medical kits to hospitals in Hasaka city, Qamishli, Ras al-Ain and al- Malikiya, adding that rehabilitation work for a number of sections of Hasaka and Ras al-Ain hospitals are ongoing on and carried out in cooperation between ICRC and the Hasaka Health Directorate.

Last year, the ICRC provided Hasaka province with special equipment for the maintenance of drinking water wells, particularly Allok project which provides Hasaka with water and al-Hilaliyeh project which provides Qamishli with water.
