Kremlin denies Russian military involvement in Syrian Army’s operations in Palmyra

Moscow, SANA-Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied the involvement of Russian military in the operations carried out by the Syrian Arab Army against ISIS terrorist organization in Tadmour (Palmyra) city.

“The operations are conducted by the Syrian armed forces. What President Putin said was that the Russian military campaign has significantly strengthened the Syrian armed forces, which are now able to independently continue the military operations,” Peskov told reporters on Friday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed on Thursday that Russia will continue to combat terrorist organizations in Syria and provide the Syrian government with financial, military and intelligence support.
