Lattakia governorate discusses with UNDP enhancing joint cooperation

Lattakia, SANA – Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khodr al-Salem discussed with regional director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Samuel Rizk and his accompanying delegation means to enhance cooperation between the two sides to meet the needs of the province in all sectors.

The governor reviewed the services provided by the province to the citizens in Lattakia in light of the increasing number of arrivals to the province from other provinces due to terrorist attacks, calling on the international organizations to keep pace with the situation in the province to provide aid to those who need it.

He hailed the efforts of UNDP in the humanitarian sector, calling on the international organizations to set up developmental plans to help citizens and arrivals to implement projects which contribute to generating income for them.

In turn, Rizk reviewed the projects that the UNDP is working to implement in Lattakia, mainly the project of collecting and transporting solid waste which provides 212 job opportunities, in addition to other future projects.
