Moscow, SANA- Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that the Russian Air Force will continue its operations against ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra as well as other terrorist groups in Syria even after the Russian-US agreement on cessation of hostilities in Syria goes into effect.
During a meeting with the members of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), Putin pointed out that the military operations carried out by the Syrian Arab Army, Russian Air Force and the US-led coalition will not target the armed groups which declare their commitment to the cessation of hostilities.
“I would like to emphasize once again that the groups of ISIS, al- Nusra Front, and other terrorist organizations recognized as such by the UN Security Council are not included in the agreement and the decisive fight against them will obviously continue,” Putin added.
He noted that the cessation of hostilities agreement is aimed to give an impetus to the settlement of the crisis in Syria.
“It is complicated but there is no other way than the political settlement, and all conditions must be provided to stop the bloodshed soon to launch the Syrian-Syrian dialogue with the participation of all constructive political forces,” Putin said.
