Sweida, SANA – A car loaded with munitions bound for the terrorist organizations in the Syrian al-Badiya (desert) was ambushed Wednesday morning in the western countryside of Sweida province.
A source at Sweida governorate said the authorities had information that the terrorists were preparing to transport a large amount of mines to al-Badiya across Khirbet al-Ghoutheh area.
The authorities ambushed the car in the area at dawn and clashed with the terrorists.
The car, which was coming from the eastern countryside of the neighboring Daraa province, was carrying 246 anti-tank mines and artillery shells hidden inside a tanker mounted on the car, the source said.
Two days ago, the authorities and the popular defense groups seized a pickup laden with hundreds of U.S. and Israeli made anti-tank mines in the western countryside of Sweida coming from Daraa.
