Damascus, SANA-Health Minister Nizar Yazigi affirmed on Monday the important role of the Syrian communities abroad to strengthen the steadfastness of their motherland in fighting terrorism.
During a meeting with a delegation of the Syrian community in Italy, Italian SOLID organization and the European Solidarity Front for Syria , pointed out that the health situation in Syria is stable despite the challenges and the economic blockade imposed on the Syrian people to the point of securing typical medicines and medical supplies.
The ministry will continue offering health services to citizens in all Syrian areas in
cooperation with the local society, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Yazigi added.
The minister cited that the ministry is working on rehabilitating health institutions, opening new health centers and hospitals and licensing of new pharmaceutical factories to meet the growing edical needs, in addition to ensuring the medical equipment and vaccines from friendly countries, adding that the ministry is offering free medication for chronic diseases.
For his part, Dr. Jamal Abu Abbas, chairman of Syrian community in Italy affirmed that supporting Syria and strengthening the steadfastness of Syrians in facing the terrorist war waged on it is the duty of all Syrians abroad.
Members of the delegation said that the tendentious media campaign in the western outlets tried to distort facts and events in Syria in order to destroy its establishments and infrastructure.
In a relevant context, the delegation met Syria’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, who underlined the important role of the Syrian expatriates in the reconstruction process, calling on the members of the delegation to convey the true image of what is happening in Syria.
