Homs/ Daraa, SANA- In support of the Syrian Arab Army, the 3rd batch of the self-protection squads was graduated in Homs on Sunday.
Some 650 fighters graduated from the one-week course which aims at supporting stability and security in the areas of their residence and work.
Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi described the graduation as an excellent national job which was successfully achieved thanks to the efforts of the trainers and the commitment and enthusiasm of the participants in the course.
Al-Barazi added that the graduates of the previous courses started to take position in the sites and villages which the army has cleared from the terrorists, asserting that they will be a genuine support to the Syrian army to achieve more advance in its war against terrorism.
Some 1650 members graduated during the three courses, the supervisor officer of the course told SANA.
The officer added that the graduates represent all spectrum of the Syrian people and they constitute a true support for realizing stability and maintaining the public and private properties, infrastructure and institutions.
520 volunteers graduated in Daraa
In a relevant context, the first group of the self-protection squads was graduated in Daraa province.
Some 520 volunteers from various villages and towns in the province received fighting trainings with the aim of protecting their villages and the private and public properties, infrastructures and establishments.
Daraa Governor Mohammad Khaled al-Hannous said that the course reflects Daraa sons’ readiness to defend their homeland and to support their army in its war against terrorism.
Al-Hannous added that the self-protection squads will assume responsibility of protecting the villages and town which the army have restored security and stability to them.
