Electricity Minister: 6 power stations constructed in coastal area in 2015

Tartous, SANA – Electricity Minister Imad Khamis said the Ministry has been exerting exceptional measures during the past five years to secure resources, invest in human and physical resources, and provide protection to electric power facilities.

During a meeting with Tartous City Council members, Khamis said that despite all sabotage acts and terrorist attacks, the Syrian power grid is still capable of providing electricity to all of the Syrian provinces except for Aleppo, highlighting that 180 power stations were sabotaged by terrorists and many others are now out of commission.

He also noted that 6 power stations were constructed in the Syrian coastal area in 2015 with a cost of SYP 14 billion.
