Tehran, SANA, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that weakening Syria, which faces Zionists and stands in the line of resistance, doesn’t serve the interest of Islam, criticizing states backing terrorism which spend oil costs to buy weapons for terrorists.
“Everyone must work together to combat extremism, violence and terrorism”, Iranian President added at the opening of the 29th edition of the International Islamic Unity Conference; pointing out that the Islamic nation is in deer need to show today the real bright face of Prophet Mohammad, while ISIS terrorist organization is perpetrating terrorist practices.
In turn, Syria’s Grand Mufti Dr. Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun affirmed that Syria has been able after five years of fierce terrorist war against it to impose its sovereignty over its enemies.
“The terrorists and their supporters who killed civilians, children, women, scientists and clerics and destroyed infrastructure in Syria are now holding meetings in Riyadh and abroad under the auspices of the countries which backed them and their goal is to the surrender of Syria,” Hassoun added.
The grand Mufti pointed out that Syria is targeted due to its stances towards Palestinian cause and its resistance against Zionism, calling on the conference’ participants and all Syria’s friendly countries to hold the next meeting of the International Islamic Unity Conference in Damascus.
Syria’s Grand Mufti Dr. Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun is among other 400 scholars from 70 countries taking part in the conference entitled “The Challenges Facing the Islamic World” which lasts till Tuesday.
