Baghdad, SANA – Transport Minister Ghazwan Kheir Bek signed with his Iraqi counterpart Baqer Jabr al-Zoubeidi an agreement for activating land transport.
The agreement which was signed at the end of the meetings of the General Assembly of the Syrian-Iraqi Company for Land Transport canceled the Syrian-Iraqi Company for Maritime Transport due to the circumstances that disrupted its work.
At the conclusion of the signing ceremony which was held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, Minister Kheir Bek stressed the importance of developing the joint Syrian-Iraqi cooperation in all fields.
Minister Kheir Bek added in a statement to SANA reporter in Baghdad that Syria and Iraq face the same terrorism and the same war, noting that cooperation and development of agreements between them at all levels are essential part of their battle to uproot terrorism.
In turn, al-Zubeidi emphasized that Iraq is keen to develop the joint cooperation and relations with Syria at all levels, describing relations between the two countries as historic.
Al-Zubaidi added in a statement that the two sides discussed ways of cooperation after eliminating the terrorist gangs in the two countries, noting that they plan to develop cooperation in land, air and railway transport fields.
