Damascus, SANA- Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Minister of Local Administration Omar Ghalawanji discussed with Amin Awad, Director of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR ) Bureau for the Middle East and North Africa cooperation in relief and humanitarian fields.

Ghalawanji stressed the importance of uniting efforts of all active parties in relief and humanitarian fields and coordinating efforts for ensuring the highest level of efficiency and professionalism in providing aid, drinking water, education, and health and social services to needy persons in all provinces, asserting that this is something that the Syrian government has been eager to ensure since the beginning of the crisis.

He also reviewed measures taken by the Higher Committee for Relief in providing shelters, underlining the cooperation with UNHCR within the framework of first response plan since 2012, since it works in parallel with the government on the rehabilitation and restoration of makeshift housing centers and preparing them for displaced persons.
