Syria and Iraq..necessity of coordination in combating terrorism

Damascus, SANA- Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar discussed on Monday with chargé d’affaires at the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus Riad Hassoun al-Tai means to enhance bilateral relations.

Al-Shaar said that both countries are facing international terrorism supported by some regional and international countries that aiming at fragmenting the region, with the Minister stressing the necessity of military and security coordination between Syria and Iraq to eliminate terrorism.

He noted that Israel is the only side that benefits from what is happening in Syria, Iraq, and the entire region, adding that the steadfastness of the Syrian people and army and the support of friendly countries will foil its enemies’ schemes.

For his part, al-Tai stressed the necessity of security coordination to confront to the vicious attacks launched by terrorist organizations, particularly ISIS.
