Moscow, SANA – With the participation of Syrian producers and exporters, the World Food Moscow Exhibition kicked off on Monday.
About 1,700 Russian and foreign firms from 72 countries are taking part in the 4-day event at a time when western countries are trying to tighten sanctions on Russia, and with Moscow taking a number of counter measures as banning the importation of agricultural products from these countries.
Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Dr. Riad Haddad said during a meeting with Syrian businessmen in the expo that the event is an opportunity to enhance Syrian-Russian relations in all domains, adding that the Syrian products are very popular in Russia despite the difficulties and damage inflicted to the Syrian economy due to the terrorist attacks.
In statements to SANA, a number of Syrian businessmen and visitors expressed their satisfaction over the event, saying that the Syrian government and embassy had played a significant role in promoting the Syrian products.
They hoped such cooperation will continue and be boosted in the future.
