Hama governor, ICRC discuss cooperation in drinking water projects

Hama, SANA – Hama Governor Ghassan Khalaf discussed on Tuesday with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Homs and Hama Dr. Majida al-Fuleihi means of bolstering cooperation in the fields of drinking water and implementing joint projects.

Khalaf said the government will spare no effort to provide all the needed facilitations to all humanitarian organizations operating in Syria, including the ICRC).

For her part, al-Fuleihi expressed the ICRC’s readiness to rehabilitate and maintain two schools to be used as makeshift centers to host displaced families.

She discussed the possibility of securing alternative water resources in al-Sqeilbiyeh city and rehabilitating the main pumping station of Nahr al-Bared River project.

Earlier on July, the ICRC discussed with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the General Establishment for Drinking Water in Hama the implementation of standing joint projects and new ones due to be constructed to provide drinking water to areas in need.
