Damascus, SANA – Minister of Health Dr. Nizar Yazigi said the health institutions are ready at all times to provide medical care to all citizens, especially personnel of the armed forces.
During a tour at Damascus Hospital on Friday, Minister Yazigi said cadres of hospitals and health centers are being distributed to compensate for any possible shortage during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, adding that the equipment and medicines received by the international health organizations are also being distributed according to their need in the health institutions.
Regarding the medicines, Dr. Yazigi said despite the crisis and all challenges facing the health sector, such as terrorist attacks and economic sanctions, there are still 69 plants in which medicines are manufactured, adding that the Ministry is facing difficulties in importing some medicines for chronical diseases.
