Tartous, SANA – Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi said that the relaunching of a number of stalled tourism projects shows commitment on the part of local investors and their confidence in the tourism sector.
Visiting a number of projects currently under construction in Tartous city on Saturday, Yazigi said the Ministry has big plans for the coastal area, expecting a good season for local tourism.
The visit covered the Dreams Resort project south of Tartous city, which should have 60 chalet completed by mid August, while a gym, a shopping area, a restaurant, and a swimming pool should be completed two months later at the project which has an overall area of 8,000 square meters.
The visit also covered the sites of the three-star Asad Hotel project site, the Tartous Teachers Union Hotel project, and the four-star Sheraton Tartous Hotel on the city’s seaside promenade.
The Minister also inspected the old headquarters of al-Baath Party, the marina, and al-Manara Village complex on the promenade, three sites which are proposed to be offered for investment projects in an upcoming forum.
