Daraa, Damascus Countryside, SANA – Daraa Governorate in cooperation with the al-Baath Arab Socialist party and a number of humanitarian aid associations distributed 1,500 food baskets to displaced families in a number of areas in Daraa.
Eng. Awwad Sweidan, Deputy Daraa Governor, told SANA reporter that distribution was carried out in 85 makeshift residential centers in Daraa city, Izra’ and al-Sanamin areas.
Head of Social Affairs in the province Nibal Hariri said humanitarian aid of food rations and basic needs is periodically distributed in the city.
The Humanitarian Sub-Committee in the province decided in its last meeting to provide another 500 food baskets to Deir al-Bakht area and agreed to study the possibility of providing the area with water tanks after terrorists targeted the water tankers in the area.
2,500 food rations distributed in Damascus Countryside
Damascus Countryside’s Humanitarian Sub-Committee also distributed about 2,500 food rations in the areas of Babila, Yalda and bait Sahm.
Head of the Municipal Council in Yalda Mohammad al-Hamed said the aid is one of a number of batches sent by the sub-committee recently, adding that more rations are to be distributed afterwards.
He said over 4,000 food baskets were distributed to al-Mo’adamyeh area, western countryside, in the last month.
