Homs, SANA- Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi discussed on Wednesday with Maria Rumman, the head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Syria, the conditions of people displaced due to the current crisis and cooperation between the two sides.
Al-Barazi affirmed that the programs carried out by the Governorate with representatives of UN organizations aim to alleviate the suffering of displaced people and support them inside and outside Syria, adding that spread of terrorism is causing more displacement of locals.
The Governor stressed the important role of international organizations and UN in stopping terrorists from arriving to Syria and preventing the funding and support of terrorism.
He pointed out the efforts of the government and the High Relief Committee in providing the basic needs of citizens in all areas, especially in the northern countryside of Homs, affirming that the government is cooperating with international organizations to provide all citizens’ needs in all Syrian areas.
For her part, Rumman said that the visit aims to inspect the activities of IOM in the province and discuss bilateral cooperation, lauding the steps taken by the government to facilitate the humanitarian work of international organizations.
