Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi said on Thursday the government’s priorities at the current stage are to ensure food security and provide the citizens with their basic needs, in parallel with continuing efforts of combating terrorism and restoring security on the ground.
He was speaking during a meeting with local, religious, party and commercial figures from Jaramana and Ashrafiyet Sahnaya in Damascus countryside and al-Sheikh Mountain (Mount Hermon) and the Israeli-occupied Golan in the southern region.
The Primer stressed that the government is keen to directly communicate with the civil and popular bodies in all the Syrian areas to enhance coordination and cooperation as far as services and provision of needs are concerned.
Such cooperation, he said, would effectively contribute to reactivating the process of production in the various industrial and agricultural sectors, in addition to taking better care of the displaced families who fled terrorism-stricken areas and moved to settle in others.
Al-Halaqi highlighted the importance of these popular and local parties contributing to the efforts of confronting terrorism, achieving more local reconciliations and strengthening national unity.
