Tehran, SANA Iran sees that it is its duty to support the Syrian government and people for maintaining Syria’s territorial integrity, Iran’s Supreme Leader’s Senior Advisor Ali Akbar Velayati said Sunday.
Meeting a Jordanian intellectual and social delegation in Tehran, Velayati rejected any country’s attempt to impose what is called a no-fly zone in Syria
The Iranian official appreciated the bravery of President Bashar al-Assad, referring to the increase of his popularity among the Syrian people.
He pointed out the unity between the Syrian and Lebanese people in confronting the practices of the Takfiri terrorists, asserting that Syria’s security is Lebanon’s security and Iran’s security.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization is perpetrating crimes against everyone either Muslims or not Muslims, he went on to say.
Velayati called on the Islamic states and the regional countries to unify and face all partition forms of the states in the region.
He indicated the US Congress’s decision over dividing Iraq into three parts, asserting that the Iraqi people will foil this conspiracy.
