Damascus, SANA – The authorities concerned will continue injecting large quantities of foreign currency in the local markets the whole week, a special source told SANA.
The source said the amounts of foreign currency, particularly US Dollar (USD) whose price has soared to unprecedented levels in the past months, are being pumped through the currency exchange companies in all provinces.
The exchange rate of the USD against the Syrian pound (SYP) has dropped recently following the foreign currency injections, which started few weeks ago.
The price of USD pumped in the market ranged between SYP 275 per 1 USD early this month and 215 on May 12.
