Syrian Tourism Festival launches Youth Initiatives Program

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Tourism Festival – Syria 2015, organized by the Tourism Ministry in cooperation with the Syrian Transport and Tourism Company, continued its activities on Saturday at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

The second day activities focused on future visions and strategies for tourism in Syria, with participants in discussing the restructuring of the tourism sector with focus on improving internal tourism and promoting tourism in Syria via mass media, in addition to developing tourism projects in rural areas.

The activities also included a seminar for launching the Youth Initiatives Program for pioneering and innovative small projects.

The seminar focused on the need to support youth initiatives which will help reduce the gap between the job market and job opportunities, inviting youths to submit their ideas for tourism projects in order to secure contracts and funding for them.

The Federation of Tourism Chambers, tourism schools and institutes, UN organizations, civil societies, travel and tourism companies, airlines, shopping malls, and commercial and services companies are participating in the event, which was launched on Friday May 1st and will be concluded on May 6th.
