Cabinet approves emergency plan to provide drinking water in all provinces

Damascus, SANA- The Cabinet discussed on Tuesday measures related to rehabilitating the residential neighborhoods in Aleppo affected by terrorist attacks and ways of continuing relief works in the province .

The Cabinet approved two memorandums from the Ministry of Water Resources on the emergency plan to provide drinking water in all Syrian provinces and the plan for managing dams’ water supplies, in addition to measures to prevent crises in this sector.

During the weekly session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi asserted that Syria will continue fighting terrorism and reestablishing stability and security in parallel with enhancing national reconciliations and pursuing a political solution without foreign intervention or external dictations.

Concerning the situation in Aleppo, al-Halaqi called for rehabilitating the neighborhoods damaged by terrorist attacks and rehabilitating the services and utilities sector, pointing out that the government exerted its utmost efforts to alleviate the negative repercussions of the recent terrorist rocket attacks that targeted civilians in the city.

Al-Halaqi also asserted the necessity of preventing terrorist attacks targeting water networks and electricity grids, while regarding the economic situation, the Premier noted that the Syrian Pound exchange witnessed a gradual improvement due to the measures taken by the government.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem, briefed the Cabinet on the positive results of the second consultative meeting in Moscow and its role in finding the appropriate grounds for inter-Syrian dialogue without foreign intervention or dictations, asserting the Syrian government’s keenness on fighting terrorism and adhering to the Moscow track.
