Damascus, SANA – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssla Mikdad on Tuesday met a delegation from the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) headed by member of the PLO Executive Committee Ahmad Majdalani.
During the meeting, Mikdad said that Syria is determined to combat the terrorism affecting Palestinian refugee camps in Syria, particularly Yarmouk Camp, noting that the targeting of Yarmouk Camp by ISIS and Jabhet al-Nusra is part of these two terrorist organizations’ alliance with Israel and its pawns in the region who seek to scatter Palestinian refugees and deprive them of their right to return to their occupied homeland.
Mikdad asserted that the Syrian government is exerting all possible efforts to provide shelter, humanitarian aid, and medical services to the Palestinians who were evacuated from Yarmouk Camp, holding the states that support terrorists responsible for the shedding of Syrian and Palestinian blood.
He also affirmed that Syria will continue to provide unlimited support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to claim their just right to return to their homeland and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, warning against the attempts to embroil Arab states in internal conflicts to distract them from supporting the Palestinian cause.
For his part, Majdalani reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, asserting that coordination and cooperation will continue between the Syrian and Palestinian leaderships until terrorists in Yarmouk Camp and other Palestinian camps are defeated.
He also lauded the Syrian government’s efforts in terms of evacuating locals from Yarmouk Camp and providing them with aid.
