Baku, SANA- Syria participates in the World Climate Summit within the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, with a delegation headed by ,Louay Khreiteh ,Minister of Local Administration and Environment.
During his participation in the ministerial roundtable meeting on enhancing ambition in climate change mitigation measures until 2030, Kharita said that within the framework of enhancing ambition to reach implementable results, we focus on developed countries and major companies fulfilling their commitments through financing, technology transfer, and supporting the capabilities of developing countries to accomplish their obligations and nationally specified contributions.
The Minister pointed out the impacts of unilateral coercive measures on the environment and development in Syria, stressing the need to lift these measures and put an end to the foreign occupation of Syrian territory
He stressed the need to support procedures of alleviation and the importance of adaptation measures and implementing them to achieve the required balance within the framework of enhancing ambition.
