Brasilia-SANA, With the participation of Syria, the 2024 Global Education Meeting held in the city of Fortaleza, Brazil, continues its work for the second day.
Speaking at a working session , the Minister of Education, Chairman of the Syrian National Commission for UNESCO, Muhammad Amer al-Mardini, talked about job skills in vocational and technical education.
Minister Mardini attached great importance to vocational and technical education in Syria and the great support provided by the government to this sector within the framework of a comprehensive national vision to develop and improve this type of education, and provide its requirements to overcome difficulties and challenges.
Mardini pointed out that there are a large number of vocational schools distributed throughout the country that meet the needs of the labor market, and are equipped with curricula that take into account the new required specializations, indicating that the ministry was able to transform vocational schools and technical institutes into production centers to supply the local market with products and job opportunities.
The Minister of Education also spoke about the experience of dual education and partnership between vocational schools and chambers of industry and commerce, in addition to starting to digitize vocational education curricula.
Concluding his speach, Mardini stressed the need to make efforts and continue to establish partnerships and coordination with international organizations to develop this important type of education.
