UNRWA: Northern Gaza witnesses humanitarian disaster in light of lack of food security

Occupied Jerusalem, SANA- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that the northern Gaza Strip is witnessing a humanitarian disaster in light of the lack of food security, in addition to blocking the entry of food, water, fuel and medicine by the Israeli occupation.

“The scenes in northern Gaza Strip are shocking and terrifying. Families have been under siege for more than two weeks. Homes, infrastructure, and even their facilities in those areas have been bombed in the past few days, while not allowing enough supplies and relief aid to enter for the population,” UNRWA Acting Media Officer in Gaza, Enas Hamdan said.

She added “most food supplies have run out, there is not enough potable water and fuel shortage, and a large number of victims are falling in addition to the bodies lying in the streets, in light of the inability to access the necessary medical services and care. The three main hospitals there are also operating at the lowest capabilities and above their capacity, and two of them have been directly bombed for days.”
