Syrian-Iraqi talks on enhancing security cooperation and joint coordination

Baghdad, SANA-Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and Syria’s Ambassador to Baghdad Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation relations.

Syrian ambassador to Iraq said in a statement that the meeting stressed the importance of historical relations and fraternal ties between the two countries and the keenness to develop its in a way that ensures their security and stability.

He added that the prospects for enhancing cooperation and joint coordination, exchanging visits, and fortifying the borders on both sides to prevent the infiltration of terrorists between the two countries were discussed.

Al-Dandah pointed out that his discussions with Iraqi Minister of Interior also addressed the affairs of Syrian community in Iraq and the necessity of solving their problems and granting those who violate the conditions of residence a grace period to settle their situations and reduce the fees and fines imposed on them, as Minister al-Shammari pledge to provide facilities and find appropriate and legal solutions for them.
