Damascus, SANA-Regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party strongly condemned the Saudi aggression against Yemen, demanding an immediate halt to it and respecting Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity.
The leadership saw in a statement that “this irresponsible disregard for the Arab national security and the sovereignty of an Arab country is a gross violation of the Arab fraternal ties and international law.”
The leadership urged “brothers in Yemen” to return to the negotiating table without foreign interference and to find national solutions that preserve Yemen’s unity, independence and territorial integrity.
The statement said Syria supports the people of Yemen against the aggression.
Saudi on Thursday started a military campaign, with Saudi warplanes launching airstrikes against positions inside Yemen, killing and wounding scores.
