UN: “Israel” violates international law and human rights standards in the Palestinian Territories

Geneva, SANA-The UN Human Rights council (UNHRC) affirmed that the Israeli occupation forces have subjected thousands of Palestinians to arbitrary arrest, torture, and settler violence, in addition to destroying or seizing their homes and properties and forcibly displacing them, noting that “Israel” violates international law and human rights standards.

According to the Palestinian WAFA News Agency, the Commission called for a comprehensive and independent investigation into the killings carried out by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians and holding those responsible accountable, stressing that “the Israeli military operation in the West Bank seriously threatens to deepen the catastrophic situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.”

In a related context, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stressed that 212 UN employees were killed in the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of last October.

It added  in a statement that the UN institutions have been subjected to about 464 attacks since the beginning of the Israeli aggression, despite the presence of more than one and a half million displaced persons inside it, which led to the martyrdom of more than 563 Palestinians and the injury of about 1790, noting that the health and humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip are catastrophic, with the spread of infectious diseases and epidemics among the displaced Palestinians as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.
