Yazigi: Expatriates’ role in reconstruction process is very important

Damascus, SANA- Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi stressed on Tuesday the importance role of Syrian expatriates in revealing the truth about what is happening in Syria and the vandalism of its archeological and tourist sites by armed terrorist organizations.

During a meeting with the Chairman of the Syrian Community Association in Italy Jamal Abu Abbas, Yazigi reviewed the damage caused to archeological and tourist sites by terrorists who destroyed tourist facilities, vandalized archeological sites in a methodical manner, and carried out illegal excavations and theft of archeological relics.

Yazigi thanked the expatriates who worked to organize tourist activities and events abroad, saying that that the contribution of expatriates to the reconstruction process is very important.

For his part, Abu Abbas noted that the Association held five-day events in four Italian regions and eight schools with the participation of journalists, parliamentarians, and academics to show the Italian people the truth about the crisis in Syria, stressing that it’s the duty of all Syrians to protect their homeland.

He pointed out that Association will continue to carry out and expand its activities to involve all European countries, particularly since the Ministry provided them photos and other helpful requirements for these activities.
