Prime Minister, Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water discuss water security cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Hussein Arnous discussed Monday with Minister of Energy and Water in the Lebanese Caretaker Government Walid Fayyad means to enhance bilateral cooperation on water issues and water security in light of climate change and its negative effects on various economic sectors, especially agriculture.

Arnous underlined the importance of unifying the Arab efforts and boosting the joint Arab action to face challenges in the drinking water and irrigation sectors, and exchanging expertise in a way to achieve the common interest of the Arab countries.

Both sides also affirmed unifying efforts and continuing joint cooperation between Syria and Lebanon within the framework of the signed agreements, especially the implementation of the Asi and Kabir South river agreements, preserving the environment of the shared basins, and reaching the best coordination between the two sides through the meetings of the joint technical committees formed for this purpose.
