Occupied Jerusalem, SANA-Palestinian Prisoners Club denounced escalation of the policy of arresting journalists by the occupation authorities, in addition to threats, field attacks, detention and ongoing persecution, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Since the start of the aggression on Gaza on October 7, about 80 Palestinian journalists have been arrested, including 4 female journalists, Palestinian Prisoners Club said in a statement.
The statement added that the detained journalists face retaliatory measures, torture and humiliation, in addition to facing a policy of starvation and systematic medical crimes.
The club called on all international human rights institutions, notably the United Nations, to assume their responsibilities for the crimes carried out by the occupation against prisoners and detainees, as an ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
