Tehran, SANA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will perform prayers over the bodies of late President Ebrahim Raisi and late Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian along with their companions.
The prayers will be done in a ceremony in the University of Tehran at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday before a funeral procession.
Bodies of president Raisi and his entourage were transferred to Tehran on Tuesday after a funeral in northwestern city of Tabriz.
On returning from a dam opening ceremony in Iran’s border with the Republic of Azerbaijan on Sunday, President Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, Tabriz Friday Prayer Leader Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem and Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati have passed away when their helicopter crashed in mountainous areas in Varzaghan region.
Two bodyguards, two pilots and a crew member were also killed in the incident.
