Beirut, SANA- Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, has affirmed that the crime committed by the Israeli entity by targeting the Iranian consulate building in Damascus is part of the most obvious basic battle represented by the conflict with the Zionist enemy, stressing that Iran’s response to the targeting of its consulate is a natural right.
Sayyed Nasrallah’s remarks came in a speech Monday during a ceremony honoring the martyred Iranian Commander, Major General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and his martyred companions.
The Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus set two precedents – the first was that it targeted sovereign Iranian territory, and the second was the rank of the assassinated, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said.
He added that the presence of Iranian military advisors in the consulate in Damascus is normal and it was part of the international standards, and targeting them is the starkest Israeli attack on Iranian advisors in Syria in years.
The Israeli occupation, he said, “is blatantly declaring war and alleges that it was attacking Iranian forces when in reality, they were targeting Iranian advisors who have greatly served the Resistance in the region.”
Sayyed Nasrallah added that this was resorted to “due to the failure of the universal war on Syria, of which Israel was a quintessential part.”
Regarding the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that “Israel” has not achieved the goals it set behind this aggression despite the passage of half a year.
